Hardwood in construction

QUERCUS HAS A HISTORY OF SUPPLYING LARGE VOLUMES OF HARDWOOD TO THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY FOR A VARIETY OF PROJECTS.

Hardwoods are the de-facto choice for many construction projects as they are naturally more durable and longer lasting than softwoods. They come from slow-growing broad-leaved trees, meaning their timber has more density than softwoods, giving them enhanced durability and strength.

This is one of the reasons they’re so ubiquitous in the UK: you can find hardwoods being used in cottages, manor houses, farm houses, churches, and even the majority of new builds today.

Quercus has a history of supplying large volumes of hardwood to the construction industry for a variety of projects. As a result, we are well aware of what differentiates the various types of hardwood available, and can offer our customers expert advice on the matter. We supply fresh sawn green oak, and also part air-dried beams to our customers direct from Europe. All orders can be cut bespoke to fulfill our customers’ needs and requirements.

We don’t just supply timber, though. We also source a wide range of green oak kit buildings. These range from a standard garden gazebo or pergola to a large three bay garage with additional storage. These buildings are delivered in kit form which makes them very quick and easy to erect on site.
